Monday Morning Poll: 'The Happening' or 'The Hulk'?

The summer weekends are about to get a whole lot more competitive starting this Friday with the debut of two pretty big flicks, The Incredible Hulk and The Happening. On one hand, you have the return of a character who didn't do so well last time he was in theaters. On the other, you have the return of a writer-director who didn't do so well last time he was in theaters. Thus, both men (or monsters) are looking for a bit of redemption this time around. But who will get your money, that's what we're interested in finding out this week. Who will you be giving a second chance to? The Incredible Hulk or The Incredible M. Night Shyamalan?
The Happening marks M. Night's first R-rated feature, which means the film's audience is already somewhat limited. Meanwhile, The Incredible Hulk (rated PG-13) has already started using the success of Marvel's Iron Man to help launch its opening weekend at the box office. That said, I think it's pretty obvious as to which film will make more money than the other, so instead of going down that road, tell us which one you'll be seeing and why. Or, perhaps, you're not interested in either one? Sound off below ...

(Page 1)2. The Happening it's what's, well, happening.
I'll save the Hulk for the Blu-Ray demo at Fry's.

3. Does Ed Norton actually walk out of Hulk's ass, or is that just on the poster?

4. If I weren't such a pathetic chicken, I'd go to "The Happening." I'm a diehard M. Night fan. But being a pathetic chicken, I may wait for the DVD so I can fast-forward the anxiety-inducing parts.
I never got into "The Hulk" as a kid -- it scared me. (See above line re: chicken.) So I'm not interested in it now either.
Even though I'm unable to give it any financial help, I hope "The Happening" comes out on top.

5. Well, I have seen "Incredible Hulk" - and it is awesome, far less poetic than Ang Lee's disaster/misunderstood version.
"The Happening" - I'd see it, but only because of Zooey D and Marky Marky, M. Night Shamalamadingdong does nothing for me anymore, and I was a big fan.

6. im copying and pasting from another article on cinematical
I dont think the happening will do well. 1 nobody knows what the hell its about. 2 M night however u spell is name. is banned ever since he produced that piece of crap called the village. that has to be one of the worst movies ive scene and that whole studio should have been sued for false advertising. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. and im afraid to watch anything else of his because i fear i will waste another 2 hours of my life.
all that being said the happening looks interesting but he has left such a bad taste in my mouth i cant let him back in. so this will definitely be a rental
go hulk.

7. Not many people are gonna give the incredible hulk a chance, all because of the first one, and i know many of my friends are going to go see the happenning, as will I, but seeing as they have changed everything in the incredible hulk, it really makes me want to see that first, but some people are stubborn to see that it isnt the same, its different and looks much much better and actually cool!

8. I want to see the Hulk, but I heard you won't like it when he's angry.

9. Ed Norton stars in and wrote the Hulk. This really shouldn't even be up for debate here. As cool as Wahlberg is, he doesn't have anything on Norton. Hulk two weekends in a row before i see the M Night flick

10. (The Incredible) Hulk for sure, The Happening maybe. Aw who am I kidding, I'll see both for sure. I'm not dying to see The Happening, but I know with M. Night's if you don't see it opening weekend you're running the risk of having the entire thing spoiled for you by folks aching to reveal the key secret/trick/ripoff.
11. Knowing what The Happening is about, I have no desire to see it. Without spoiling it for anyone, let's just say that sometime a concept has never been tried before because it because it is too ridiculous to work. As a result, I'd rather Hulk-out this weekend.

14. I'm suddenly stoked for the Hulk, the few reviews trickling in are really good and the action trailer with Roth vs. Hulk is ridiculously cool. The advanced review I recently read for The Happening was horrible, too bad 'cause I'd like to see M. Night succeed. It's the Green Machine for me.

15. I have been fooled by M.Night into paying full price for The Village which I hated and Unbreakable which was forgetable and Signs which should have signaled the end of his career. I avoided Lady in the Water and I refuse to be duped into watching another M. Night Shameonhim in the theater again until he releases another good movie. I still LOVE The Sixth Sense but hate everything else he has done.
Oh, Ill be watching HULK.

16. I'm not planning on seeing The Incredible Hulk for the same reason I didn't watch The Hulk. I thought the Hulk looked like bad CGI in '03 and it doesn't look any better now.

17. I agree. I don't feel like watching a CGI green guy bounce around. He looks better than the first one, but still crap. Give me Lou Ferrigno any day.

19. I'm seeing "The Fall" starring Lee Pace. Everyone should.

20. The Happening is only a 15 in the UK which means its not very happening at all. I expect it to be really embarrassing with the sort of OHHH Surprise Moralising Plot Twist about the environment you can see a mile off especially if you've seen the dreary trailer. The sixth sense was a fluke and I agree The Village was laughable. I loved the first Hulk movie lots of psychological depth and hand wringing, far more interesting than the TV show! I loved the savage poodle wrestle and the bouncy Hulk too. This remake is just a cashcow and serves no purpose , and again the trailer gives the whole thing away. I wont be seeing either of these films they both look nonsense.
